Was Your Internet Marketing Campaign a Success? How to Find out
Your Internet marketing campaign just ended, and after sending in the final check to the Internet marketing firm that handled the campaign, you may be wondering whether it was worth all of the money that you spent on it. This firm probably called you up to ask whether or not you wanted to continue your services, and you are probably asking yourself whether or not it was worth it. If you don’t know how to determine the success of an Internet marketing campaign, here is how you can tell.
First, take a look at your business records. If you aren’t keeping accurate business records or if they are in disarray, this step could be problematic, but it should be all the motivation that you need to get your records back into tip top shape. When deciding whether your last campaign was a success, look at the month (or months) after the campaign started. It may take a bit of time to see any results, and you want to give the company the benefit of the doubt.
If you can’t determine from your business records whether or not the Internet marketing campaign was successful, don’t fret, because there are other ways to figure it all out. Success isn’t just measured in sales, and if this was your first adventure into Internet marketing, you may need to look at other aspects, too. Sure, you want to make more money, but that isn’t the exclusive goal of Internet marketing. Another common goal is to get your name out there, so look and see whether or not more people visited your website over previous months. Depending on the type of Internet marketing you were doing and what your goals were, you should probably have seen an increase in the number of web visitors to your site.
Next, take a look at how many new people signed up for your marketing Email or newsletter. Not having a newsletter or email is going to be a big mistake, so make sure to start one as soon as possible.
Another way to measure your success is to find out where you were in the search engine rankings before and see where you are now. A lot of times, Internet marketing will improve your rankings on the search engine results for your keywords, but that isn’t always the case. If this is one of your goals, you should make sure to include it in your requests for your next campaign.
When deciding whether or not your past Internet marketing campaign was a success or not, remember that there are so many things that you should consider. In fact, if you are considering doing another campaign in the future, you should look to your past and see whether or not it was a success and whether or not you want the same company doing it again for you. If it wasn’t so successful, you might want to consider finding a new company or rewriting your priorities so that the next blitz can be more successful.
